We got a book in about a woman in the CIA who moves to Luxembourg for her husband’s job only to be under suspicision there. It’s not very good.
A female exec at the studio told us they are likely not interested… because it’s not very good. My boss is now saying that she has “D-girl comments.” I cannot think of a phrase that pisses me off more than D-girl. Especially when only employed because a woman is disagreeing with someone.
Now we are pitching it elsewhere. We keep telling people that it’s great beacuse it’s a female lead…but there’s still the husband…so it’s still a two-hander. So it’s still a MAN’s movie. And they think they are clever about this.
